Monthly Limited Edition Models

Starting from September 2000, we will be issuing one special model each month.  Each model will be available for only one month, after which time it will be permanently discontinued, and replaced by the next Limited Edition.   We will automatically include the current Limited Edition model with every mail order for model soldiers that we send out.

We have been prompted to initiate this strange scheme by the intensity of your response to the end of the Queen Victoria subscription offer.  We have had customers try every possible tactic to get hold of these three models; from unseemly pleading, through determined campaigns of telephone harassment to outright threats of violence.

Given this evidence of high levels of emotional involvement with acquiring models that have limited availability, we thought it would be interesting to provide a new Limited Edition every month and discover how collectable they would become after the scheme has run a few years.  So, as each Limited Edition model is discontinued, we are going to put one hundred castings away.  After five years we are going to offer 50 sets of the first year's Limited Edition releases for sale, after ten years we will offer the remaining 50 sets.  It will be interesting to see what sort of price they will fetch.
